Wanted some instant ramen with soft tofu and rice that I could microwave back at the hotel before my flight back home. I really wanted Korean restaurant to eat at but no one was open at 10am. This little Korean store had everything I needed. The owner/operator was really nice and helpful.

Great food, great people, great prices. Can't recommend highly enough. This is the best local market for Korean food, and has a solid selection of staples for other east Asian cuisines as well. They've got a solid canned selection, but also produce and meat sections as well, so you can do all your shopping in one place. It's well organized and manages to fit a lot of food and cooking supplies into a small space without feeling claustrophobic. As a disabled person with limited mobility, I really appreciate a place that doesn't require a ton of walking to navigate, but also doesn't have such small aisles that my cane can't get through. I'll take a trip to Jang Tuh over one of the massive supermarkets any day. My wallet also prefers it -- you can get some great cuts of meat (like pork belly, which can be hard to find around here) and frozen seafood without breaking the bank. Finally, I have a special love for this place because it is run by really kind people. I accidentally left my wallet here once, and the owner went out of his way to make sure it got back to me when I hadn't even realized I had lost it! The very first time I came here, I forgot to bring a bag for my groceries and he just laughed when I asked him how much I owed him for the bag he gave me. This is a pleasant place to do your grocery shopping, and the food that you get from here is even better. Looking forward to becoming a frequent shopper here, and the great food that I will get to eat because of that.

Located in a small shopping center with parking. Store looks smaller from the outside, inside is ample. The store has canned boba, shiitake mushrooms, and a variety of ramens. Found everything I was looking for kimchi, seaweed and pickled ginger. Brownie points for vegan kimchi. Reasonable pricing was around 15 dollars for everything. Owner was very nice. Minus one star because I found various products past the expiration date. Tip: check expiration date!!

This grocery FEELS like a family-owned grocery. With a first step in, the owners or their son greets you immediately. There's a small section right up front of seasonal fruit/vegetables & some items on sale. This Korean grocery store is on a busy strip of Rt. 9, not too far from Latham Traffic Circle, across from a car dealership, and shares a small lot with Tamarind Thai, a Chinese Take-out Restaurant, and a vape store. There's more parking in the back. It's a lot larger and homier than it looks on the outside. The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). There's aisles of snacks & candy, cooking sauces, flour & yam noodles, Korean gim/seaweed, Chili powder, Frozen seafood & rice cakes, bags of rice, dried kelp & anchovies for stock, barley & Cintron tea, banana yogurt drinks. There's other Asian products too (Thai curry paste, some Chinese & Filipino sauces). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else). Oh and Yes! You can buy a Neoguri Ramen & Chapaghetti Ramen and make some noodles like the film Parasite. ...didn't see if they had frozen beef. Not sure if it's due to the pandemic, but sometimes they're out of stock on things, so it's better to call ahead. I realized that Wal-M--t carries Shin Black Ramen now because they were always out. Overall, a really nice find and I love wandering around & looking at all the products. The staff is so kind, their friends seem to stop by often & chat in the back kitchen/fridge area. Check them out!

I've learned to appreciate having ready access to Asian goodies, so it would be nearly impossible for this place to make me want to rate it any lower than this. Jang Tuh seems to have pretty much all the things that may not be essential but make life even more enjoyable. I regularly get the corn chips, Choco Pies (not recently since the end of the $2.99 special), kimchi, and frozen goodies, although I've gotten them elsewhere from time to time, like Kim's Asian Market. The prices seem reasonably competitive and stock level seems stable, so they're set to stay on regular rotation for me.

So glad I found this place! I live in Halfmoon so I was constantly driving to the asian supermarket on central. It's small but has everything I need and can't find in high quality, or a good price at Hannaford/Market 32. Been there a few times and the staff is really nice. I also enjoy the smaller size as it makes the shopping trip less stressful/faster than the one on central. I can easily pop in and buy a handful of things vs. I feel I have to fill up an entire cart at the one on central. They have a good selection of Korean food specifically! Definitely stop in when you're in the area and grab some things!! The produce section is small but because I can find a lot of these things at chain grocery stores (bok choy, asian pears, dragon fruit etc;) I don't feel it's necessary to expect a small store like this carry tons of fresh food since it's not impossible to find nearby.

Jang Tuh is a good place to go for Korean snacks and ingredients, with a larger selection of Korean-specific items (especially packaged snacks) than the bigger pan-Asian stores in Albany. I was surprised to see they are also cheaper on a spot check of several items I usually buy at the Asian Supermarket, eg their daikon was 89 cents a pound currently vs 1.39 downtown. It was a little hard to find items on a first visit; the edges of the store are lined with cold case and freezer cases and produce seems to be stuck in whether than find room for it rather than all in one place. I noticed several varieties of kimchi as well as a limited selection of ready-to-go panchan (in a case at the rear on the right). But I was on a quest for ingredients to make my own kimchi and found everything I was looking for. When I need specifically Korean ingredients this will be my go-to, especially since it shortens my drive from Saratoga and is just a few blocks from my favorite Chinese restaurant, Ala Shanghai.
